Akon's Apology Is Not Enough

Another Celebrity Seeks To Con The Public With Fake Words Of Apology

Akon has apologized over his aggressive rape-dance, but the apology stops short of assuring me it will never happen again. In fact, Akon - "a con..get it?", a convicted criminal, is now saying he's sorry about the incident, but it still really wasn't his fault.

Here's what Akon had to say: "I want to sincerely apologize for the embarrassment and any pain I've caused to the young woman who joined me onstage, her family and the Trinidad community for the events at my concert," Akon said. "It was never my intention to embarrass or take advantage of my fans in any way, especially those under the age of 18.

"That is why we tried to make sure that the club did not admit anyone under 18 in the audience," he added. "Somehow, that standard was not met."

Sounds good, but let's look at the reality.

As Akon carried young Danah Alleyne he looked as if he was carelessly tossing around a rag doll. This type of crass behavior is not at all unexpected for a graduate of our nation's penal system.

No, this apology is not enough because ACTIONS speak LOUDER than words

And a picture is worth a thousand words.

Akon's words of contrition cannot take away from his actions which are clearly outlined in these grainy outtakes from the video.

In these pictures and on the video Akon is clearly man-handling a very young girl against her will in the most vile manner. As a society, we cannot tolerate this type of violence and degradation towards our fairer sex. Shame rains it wrath down upon you, Akon!

Do you accept Akon's apology?
