Pineapple Express - Amber Heard
"Pineapple Express" is the latest movie to emerge from the Judd Apatow comedy factory. Seth Rogen stars in the familiar role of a stoner. Amber Heard joins him in the movie as his love interest. The movie is typical "stoner movie" fare.

Whether this omnium-gatherum works is debatable. While there are some funny moments in Pineapple Express - I particularly like Dale's attempt to tell a cop that his use of marijuana is medicinal, to counter the effects of severe anorexia - the overall tone of the film is ragged, almost sloppy. Its 110-minute run time is brief by Apatowian standards, but a 10-minute trim might have helped prevent some of the dialogue from crossing the line between ad lib and ad nauseam.
If you loved Superbad, you'll probably love Pineapple Express.
