Hurricane Omar Path - Lashes Aruba -Threatens U.S. Virgin Islands
Hurricane Omar, the fifteenth named tropical storm and seventh hurricane in the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season is battering
Aruba with heavy rains and high winds.

A hurricane warning has been issued for the U.S. Virgin Islands, the islands of Vieques and Culebra,
St. Martin/Marteen, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barthelemy, the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, St. Kitts and Nevis.

A tropical storm warning is in effect for Antigua, Barbuda and Montserrat.

Hurricane Omar is traveling toward the Northeast at around 9 miles per hour and was located aproximately 235 miles southwest of St.
Croix and 255 miles southwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Forecasters have advised that a hurricane warning for Puerto Rico
could be issued later today.

Omar has maximum sustained winds of 85 miles an hour with some higher gusts. The hurricane could bring localized flooding, heavy rains,
and a coastal surge of 1-2 feet with dangerous battering waves.

Local interests are advised to stay tuned to local programming concerning evacuations and other advisories ahead of hurricane Omar's
landfall.
