Septuplets For Ghazala Khamis Of Egypt

Ghazala Khamis recently gave birth to septuplets, that's seven babies, at El-Shatbi Hospital in Alexandria, Egypt.

The 27 year old mother is in stable condition following the Caesarean section birth. She required a blood transfusion because of bleeding, but safely delivered three daughters and four sons. The babies have been put in a number of hospitals in the area because they were born prematurely. All of them are in stable condition.

Ghazala Khamis was admitted to the hospital two months earlier and the babies were taken by C-section in the eighth month of her pregnancy because of concerns about her health and the pressure the womb was putting on her kidneys.

The birth of the septuplets more than triples the size of Khamis' family, she already has three daughters at home. According to reports, Khami wanted to have a son since they are the "preferred sex" of the region and underwent fertility treatments after not ovulating for five years.
