Thousands Attend Bernie Mac's Funeral
Bernie Mac, a well loved comedian and actor was laid to rest on Saturday. Over six thousand friends, fans and fellow celebrities attended his funeral service held at the House of Hope megachurch in Chicago, Illinois, in his hometown.
Bernie Mac passed away on August 9, 2008 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital in mid June. His publicist said that he died from complications from pneumonia. Mac was diagnosed with sarcoidiosis, an inflammatory lung diseases that was in remission and unrelated to his death.

Samuel L. Jackson, Cedric the Entertainer and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley were all in attendance at his funeral services. Condolence letters from Barack Obama, his children and the White Sox, Mac's favorite team were all read out loud to commemorate the man that brought so much joy to others. Traffic in the area was tied up for blocks.
It seems that many of the people that Bernie Mac touched in his 50 year life didn't let him down in his last hour. He'll be sadly missed by many.
