Roxio Launches Photoshow - Digital Photo And Video Sharing

Roxio, a leading digital software company, recently launched Photoshow, a new web service that allows users to quickly and easily turn their photos and video clips into multimedia slideshows that can be shared with close friends and family.

Roxio Photoshow allows users to add special effects, transitions, captions and music to their montages of still photos and video. Once these videos have been created they can be shared on personal computers, DVDs, TVs, handhelds, and popular social media sites.

Roxio is currently offering a free trial for users that wish to create a still photo montage and an upgraded account (fee) allows users to upload video. After the free trial, membership to Roxio costs $39.99 for a year and gives access to added features like themes, titles, captions and animated graphics.

Matt DiMaria, general manager of the Roxio division of Sonic Solutions said, "There is nothing more gratifying than being able to share the joys of our lives with the ones closest to us. With busy schedules and physical distances, photos and videos play an integral part in how we communicate in today's digital world. Roxio Online brings families together by not only making it easier than ever to create unique stories to instantly share with relatives across the globe but also by providing a complete storytelling platform that appeals to any memory keeper."

Unlike other programs, Roxio's Photoshow can be distributed through a number of channels, including Facebook.com, Myspace.com and Blogger.com. They can also be added as a "channel" on personalized services at MSN, Yahoo and Google. Photoshow even allows users to upload the videos to their iTunes Podcast library and makes their slideshow montages available directly to cable television, where they can be viewed as a "Video On Demand" (VOD) offering.
