After a year of unpredictable behavior, a costly custody battle with Kevin Federline and her father seizing conservatorship over her, Britney Spears seems to be on a comeback trail.

Instead of tabloid photos of Britney stealing lighters, shaving her head, driving recklessly and eating fast food at 3 AM, recent photos are
more favorable. Britney's managed to shave off some weight, went back to the studio and is planning her first concert tour since 2003.

To further build her confidence, she took home 3 MTV music awards for her single Piece of Me.

Britney's new single Womanizer has hit #1 on the Billboard Top 100 after two weeks on the charts. Last week the song was 96th, so it rocketed to the top, just like the old days.

Despite her recent run of changing fortunes, Britney still has to deal with mistakes from her past. A jury is currently deciding her fate for a
misdemeanor charge of driving without a California license after being involved in a minor fender bender in 2007. If found guity, Britney
could face six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. Since the incident, Britney has obtained a California driver's license.

The jury in the case deliberated the case for two hours without reaching a verdict on Friday and were dismissed for the weekend.

Perhaps her abrupt turnabout and a heartfelt testimony from her father Jamie will be enough to get her off the hook. I predict that she'll
be ordered to do some kind of community service and will have to pay a fine for her past misdoings.

Regardless, the "new" Britney can't be stopped and she's taking America by storm once again. Kevin Federline.. eat your heart out!
