Crude oil prices slide Friday

NEW YORK, Oct. 9 (UPI) --

Crude oil prices dropped Friday morning after an overnight run up failed to reach $72 per barrel.

Light, sweet crude fell 45 cents to $71.24 per barrel. Heating oil lost 0.0102 cents to $1.8367 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline lost 0.0152 cents to $1.7645 per gallon. Natural gas prices fell 0.014 cents to $4.949 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline was $2.471 per gallon Friday, up from Thursday's $2.468, AAA said.
