Obama Picks Biden For VP

Barack Obama picks Joe Biden to be his Vice President

Senator Joe Biden of Delaware will be Barack Obama's running mate. Obama had been cagey about who was he picking, but that changed when he made the announcement on his website. Joe Biden is a 65 year old with a lot of experience in politics. He ran for the Presidency twice himself, and has served 30 years in the Senate.

Biden has also served as chair of the Foreign Relations Committee and also as head of the Judiciary Committee, bringing much needed experience to the Obama campaign.

The fate of Hillary Clinton has now been decided. There was some speculation that Obama might pick Clinton, despite the acrimonious nature of their relationship. That can now be laid to rest.

Obama supporters learned of the choice of Biden in a text message sent by the campaign.

"Barack has chosen Senator Joe Biden to be our VP nominee," the message read.
