KABUL, Afghanistan, Oct. 18 (UPI) --
An improvised explosive device attack killed a U.S. service member in Afghanistan Sunday, military officials say.
The slain service member's name was not released by the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in an issued statement, CNN reported.
The U.S. broadcaster said the death brought to 790 the number of U.S. troops who have died in Afghanistan since 2001.
ISAF also said several militants were killed and others arrested Friday and Saturday in Khowst, Oruzgan, Helmand and Ghazni provinces, CNN reported.
