Joe Biden is not likely to help Obama pull much of the "online vote." Biden has been a vocal opponent of many of the issues that dedicated web surfers hold dear to their tiny hearts. Biden is likely to hold an opinion counter to many fans of an open internet based on his feelings on privacy, file-sharing, and net neutrality.

- Biden has supported Congress spending over $1 billion to monitor peer to peer file sharing
- He has stated he would support internet taxes
- Biden has proposed bills arguing against encruption technology
- He's argued that net neutrality laws are un-needed
On several of these issues, Biden and Obama appear to be diametrically opposed. On the issue of net neutrality, in particular, Obama has already said he's implement net neutrality laws upon being elected.
How Obama and Biden will mesh out their differences will be interesting to see as the Democratic National Convention gets under way. For many on the internet, how they'll approach these important issues will have much to do with the eventual decision of who they'll vote for.
