David Cook Mean To Cougar
David Cook didn't care about age when he first became romantically involved with beautiful Kim Johnston, but that all changed as his fan-base grew.
Johnston, 35, met Cook, 26, through MySpace and the two hit it off great. She even asked the entertainer if he was bothered by their age difference.
"David asked me my age initially," Kim told Star. "I told him, and asked if it bothered him. He said 'Not at all. You're beautiful and intelligent.' Within a week were e-mailing and calling each other regularly, talking all night about our careers, families, past relationships. He was on the Idol tour and he even told me to get a Web cam so he could see me on the computer on the tour bus."
Despite hitting it off and spending some quality time together, Johnston was concerned when Cook told her about a potential relationship with American Idol finalist Kimberly Caldwell.
"David called me and said, 'Kimberly and I are exclusive - so all we can be right now is friends.' Even though David and I both felt a growing attraction, we mutually agreed to dial it back."
Johnston says the relationship with Cook went dormant for awhile before coming back in full bloom.
Once word about Cook dating an older woman got out, Cook was quick to distance himself from the affair.
"I was going to meet David at a concert in Tennessee," said Kim. "The he texted me and said 'We can still talk, but I can't be seen with your right now.' I was really hurt, and I started crying to when he called the next day. But there was a big change in his attitude, and he just nonchalantly told me, 'Stop making a big deal out of nothing. You knew this would happen eventually!"
The last text message she received from David Cook said: "Dude, I'm losing fans over this!"
The cougar has now gone back into the wild, without the Idol by her side.
