Tom Cruise And Katie Holmes Have The In-Laws Over
Not all is well in the world of TomKat. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes disagree on a number of issues, such as the religious upbringing for daughter Suri. According to the latest issue of In Touch, Katie wants Suri to follow in her footsteps as a Catholic and Tom wants her to become a Scientologist, just like dear old dad.
Making things tougher for Tom Cruise is that Katie Holmes has a close relationship with her parents, Martin and Kathleen. They agree with Katie on most issues, which ends up alienating the head-strong Cruise.
Her parents recently flew to Boston because they think Tom is exerting too much control over Katie, and they hoped their presence would help.
"They aren't very happy with Tom pressuring Katie to have another baby when she's not ready," a friend told In Touch.
Katie's parents worry that she's becoming stressed out about the whole situation.
They hoped their presence would cheer Katie up. It appeared to work.
"Katie has been happier since her parents arrived," said the friend. Katie, her mom, and Suri went shopping on October 7 at the Quincy Market Gap. The whole clan had a ball.
"Katie and her mom looked more like best friends than mother and daughter," eyewitness John Babcock said. "They were holding hands, giggling. They took turns holding Suri."
Katie's parents plan on staying close until things work out for Katie.
"Botton line is that Martin and Kathleen are worried about Katie and want Tom's reassurance that he'll make it a priority to iron out any issues between them," said the insider.
