Britney Spears will not be returning to the scene of her most excruciatingly humiliation after all. For weeks now, rumors have abounded that Spears would perform at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, just as she did at last years. The trouble was, her performance in 2007 was so bad it was nearly career ending. Well, don't expect any more of that abuse this year.
"Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I'm telling you officially and unequivocally," KIIS-FM radio show host Ryan Seacrest said is a quote by her manager Larry Rudolph.
"Spears is in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and was never supposed to perform at that show," he continued.
Even though Britney Spears won't be in this year's VMAs as a performer, it doesn't mean she'll be avoiding the show. She's up for 3 VMas of her own, for a total of 17 nominations in her career. The 'Moonman' is one award that she's never won in her career.
