Crude oil prices hold steady overnight

NEW YORK, Oct. 23 (UPI) --

Crude oil prices held steady overnight on the New York Mercantile Exchange, holding above $81 per gallon Friday morning.

Crude oil prices were unchanged at $81.19 per barrel from Thursday's closing price, a slight reprieve from a sharp run-up that began early in October.

Heating oil prices lost 0.007 cents overnight to $2.0876 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline prices shed 0.0014 cents to $2.0428 per gallon. Natural gas prices gained 0.046 cents to $4.993 per million British thermal unit.

At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline was $2.636 per gallon Friday, up from Thursday's $2.616, AAA said.
