Tropical Storm Gustav News

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - The seventh storm of the hurricane season, Tropical Storm Gustav formed in the Caribbean. TS Gustav is slated to hit Haiti as a Hurricane.

In Haiti, hurricane warnings have already been posted up and down the southern coast of the island. Winds from Tropical Storm Gustav have already reached 60 mph.

There are some worries that the eye of the storm might pass over Port Au Prince, the most populous city in Haiti. This would put even more strain on a civil system that has had its' share of problems in recent years.

Right now, news authorities in Haiti have taken to warning people to avoid attempting to cross flooded rivers. People doing just that in Hispanioli last week during TS Fay resulted in 23 people perishing.

Storm warnings are also being issued in the Dominican Republic as Tropical Storm Gustav worsens.
