Crude oil prices up slightly

NEW YORK, Oct. 27 (UPI) --

Crude oil prices rose slightly on the New York Mercantile Exchange overnight, with prices approaching $79 per barrel.

The price of light, sweet crude dropped sharply Monday as the dollar gained in strength. Overnight, prices regained 24 cents to reach $78.92 per barrel.

Heating oil prices added 0.0112 cents to $2.0447 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline prices added 0.0172 cents to $2.051 per gallon. Natural gas prices also gained, adding 0.047 cents to $4.56 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the nation average price of unleaded gasoline was $2.675 per gallon Tuesday, up from Monday's $2.671, AAA said.
