Crude oil prices up Tuesday

NEW YORK, Oct. 27 (UPI) --

Crude oil prices rose on the New York Mercantile Exchange Tuesday, with prices climbing above $79 per barrel.

The price of light, sweet crude dropped sharply Monday as the dollar gained strength. On Tuesday, prices regained 79 cents to reach $79.49 per barrel.

Heating oil prices slipped Tuesday, dropping 0.0071 cents to $2.048 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline prices shed 0.0085 cents to $2.062 per gallon. Natural gas prices added 0.071 cents to $4.628 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the nation average price of unleaded gasoline was $2.675 per gallon Tuesday, up from Monday's $2.671, AAA said.
