CLEVELAND, Oct. 31 (UPI) --
A Cleveland man was arrested Saturday after police found many as six bodies at his house.
Officers took Anthony Sowell, 50, a convicted rapist, into custody after someone walked into a police station and reported seeing a man resembling him, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported.
Sgt. Lori Boyd exchanged high fives with other officers at the 4th District police station.
"We got him,"she said. "Our guys got him!"
Investigators found two bodies Thursday and up to four more Friday afternoon in the house and yard of his east side home. Crowds gathered outside Friday, some carrying pictures of missing loved ones, the newspaper said.
Police asked people with missing family members to bring objects with their DNA in to help with identification. The bodies were in various stages of decomposition.
Police Lt. Thomas Stacho said three bodies had definitely been found and what are believed to be the remains of three others were also located. He said at least two of the bodies were women.
The Plain Dealer said Sowell moved into the home in 2005 after serving 15 years in prison for rape.
