Heavy snowfall hit Russia's Primorsky Territory Saturday and more cyclone-generated snow was expected, meteorologists said.

ITAR-TASS reported as the wind storm moved from the Sea of Okhotsk to the coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, it brought heavy snow and rain to the region that meteorologists expected to last another 24 hours.

Meteorologists also warned the cold weather front will lower temperatures by up to 15 degrees and weather conditions could make travel in the region difficult.

ITAR-TASS said snowfall in the Vladivostok area had already significantly impeded travel by larger vehicles.

City administration official Yevgeny Kolpinets told the Russian news agency the inclement weather had stopped bus traffic in the city as workers attempt to clear local roads of snow.

Despite the travel problems, Kolpinets told ITAR-TASS no energy supply service problems had been reported.
