NBA: Washington 123, New Jersey 104

WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 (UPI) --

Andray Blatche and Gilbert Arenas combined for 62 points Saturday, carrying Washington to a 123-104 home-opening win over New Jersey.

Blatche, playing his best NBA game in his fourth season, scored a career-high 30 points with six rebounds off the bench.

Arenas scored a game-high 32 points with seven assists.

Washington built a 62-51 halftime lead, then out-scored New Jersey 37-28 in the third period and led 109-84 on Blatche's dunk with 8:07 left in the contest.

Randy Foye scored 17 with eight assists, while both Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson scored 10 points for the Wizards, who have started the season with two wins in three games.

Chris Douglas-Roberts led New Jersey with 25 points and four assists. Rafer Alston scored 20 with eight assists. Courtney Lee scored 17 with four rebounds, and Brook Lopez scored 13 for the Nets, who have lost their first two games.
