Barack Obama Fights Back Against Ayers Ad
Barack Obama has wasted no time in fighting back against an "attack ad" that portrays the Democratic Presidential candidate as a friend of Weather Undeground radical Bill Ayers. The ad was created by the American Issues Project, or the AIP. The President of the AIP, Ed Martin, says that the ad was turned down for national distribution on Fox and CNN, but is running in several states.
The ad that Barack Obama doesn't want you to see
Martin says his group has decided to put the ad out there because the issue of Ayers and his association to Obama hasn't received much traction in the mainstream press.
"It seemed egregious that there is this recent and ongoing relationship between Obama and Ayers, a strange and in many ways disreputable figure," said Martin.
Obama does not want the ad to run. They claim the ad is illegal, and they have written letters to any stations running the ad to pull it.
Martin thinks the Democrats are being un-American in their attack of the ad.
"The idea of running to the Justice Department, demanding prosecution, it's really beyond the pale. It Smacks of a kind of desperation about the issue that we didn't expect," he said.
