Politician dies from flu-related illness

OREBRO, Sweden, Nov. 3 (UPI) --

A Swedish politician has died of a swine flu-related illness at age 48, local reports indicate.

The newspaper Nerikes Allehanda said Tuesday Liberal Party politician Jan-Erik Brohede was found dead in his Orebro, Sweden, home Saturday after suffering a heart attack, which medical officials say was induced by the H1N1 virus, the Swedish news agency TT reported.

Officials told the newspaper Brohede "had several of the risk factors that could cause a serious bout of influenza," adding he had not been vaccinated against the swine flu virus.

TT said Brohede's death brought the number of confirmed swine flu-related deaths in Sweden to three, with the other two casualties also in high-risk groups.
