Third suspect arrested for toddlers' fall

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 4 (UPI) --

A third person is facing charges after three toddlers fell from a moving car last weekend, Las Vegas police say.

Antonio Sanchez was arrested on seven counts of endangering a child, joining Vanessa Ramirez and Nancy Lopez in facing charges for Sunday's incident in northeast Las Vegas Valley, the Las Vegas Sun reported Tuesday.

Police allege Lopez was driving her Chrysler PT Cruiser Sunday night when her 3-year-old boy and Ramirez's 1-year-old twins fell out. Sanchez, who was in the vehicle's back seat, was allegedly seen retrieving one of the fallen children.

"When I asked Nancy, 'What happened tonight with your kids?' She replied, 'I have no idea. We were driving around. The door opened up and they fell out. I am going to jail, aren't I?'" an unidentified police officer alleges in a police report.

Lopez's son suffered minor injuries but Ramirez's children were in critical condition with unspecified injuries.

The Sun said Lopez is charged with seven counts of child endangerment, seven counts of having children unrestrained inside the car and driving under the influence of alcohol. Ramirez, who was not inside the vehicle during the incident, is facing seven counts of child endangerment.
