NAVAJO, N.M., Nov. 5 (UPI) --
An arrest was made Thursday in the slaying of a 64-year-old Roman Catholic nun in Navajo, N.M., the FBI said.
The federal law enforcement agency did not reveal the identity or other details regarding the person taken into custody in the weekend death of Sister Marguerite Bartz, the Albuquerque Journal reported.
The newspaper said a preliminary medical examiner's report determined Bartz, whose body was found Sunday at her convent at St. Berard Mission Church in Navajo, was most likely killed by an attacker's blows. The FBI said she died between Saturday night and midday Sunday.
"Sister Bartz did suffer substantial trauma, likely as a result of a violent confrontation with her assailant or attacker," the FBI had said Wednesday.
The nun's sport utility vehicle was found this week abandoned on a remote rural road near Cottonwood, Ariz., the Journal said.
