Palin lauds anti-abortion efforts in Wis.

WEST ALLIS, Wis., Nov. 7 (UPI) --

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said during an appearance in West Allis, Wis., she is proud of the anti-abortion movement in the state.

Appearing at a fundraiser for the Wisconsin Right to Life Education Fund Friday, Palin lauded the legislative stances Wisconsin has taken in support of the anti-abortion movement despite opposition, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

"We were told to sit down and shut up," Palin said. "Wisconsin, you went rogue."

Last year's Republican vice presidential candidate also used her appearance to speak of how she learned her youngest son Trig had Down syndrome before his birth.

"My family life is much richer thanks to this beautiful baby boy Trig," Palin said regarding her decision to have her son. "He is awesome."

The Journal Sentinel said Palin ended her speech by calling for increased anti-abortion efforts in Wisconsin to help counter abortion-rights advocates nationwide.

"Don't let anyone ever tell you to sit down and shut up," Palin told her audience.
