Tropical Storm Josephine Forms In The Atlantic

In what has been a very active week for hurricanes and tropical storms, the National Weather Service has announced the tenth named storm in the 2008 hurricane season.

Tropical storm Josephine is currently located about 220 miles west-southwest of the southern most tip of the Cape Verde islands.

Tropical storm Josephine is moving in a west-northwest direction at around 13 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds at around 60 miles per hour. Forecasters predict this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days.

TS Josephine is expected to move away from the Southern Cape Verde islands later today and rains there should subside. Other areas that could be affected by her path haven't been announced, as she is brewing in the middle of the Atlantic ocean and could strengthen or weaken in the coming days, depending on conditions.
