Tom Cruise To Make Serial Killer Thriller
Tom Cruise and United Artists have picked up the rights to The Monster of Florece, which is billed as a "serial-killer thriller."
Douglas Preston, who wrote the book, says that Cruise will produce and may even star in the movie version. The book was based on real-life events that were reconstructed by the author. All told 8 murder that occurred in Florence from 1968 to 1995 are at the heart of the narrative.

"The film will have Florence and the Chianti as protagonists: two of the locations most beloved by Americans," said Mario Spezi a crime reporter who contributed to the book.
Tom Cruise is the winner of three Golden Globe Awards and is the current President of United Artists. He was named the Most Powerful Celebrity in Hollywood by Forbes in 2006.
