Ohio State Buckeyes Defeat Ohio Bobcats 26-14
Ohio State got more than they bargained for during the first half of today's game with the Ohio University Bobcats. The Bobcats, despite being 0-13 lifetime against ranked opponents, held their own against Ohio State for the first half of football. Ohio State, number 3 in the nation coming into the game looked weak against the Bobcats for the first two quarters of the game.
OSU looked baffled by the Spread Offense the other team from 67 miles away in Ohio was using. They also were being controlled at the line of scrimmage by the Bobcats.
However, in the second half OSU appeared to remember their pedigree and started playing a much more physical game. The Bobcats seemed to come unglued in the second half, succumbing to pressure.
The Bobcats turned the ball over 4 times in the second half to help OSU get back in the game and then build an insurmountable lead.
Ohio led 7-6 at the half and even led by as much as 14-6 midway through the third quarter, before ending up losing the game 26-14.
Key plays contributing to OSU's victory were Brandon Saine's short yardage dash on the third play of the final quarter and Ray Small hitting for a 69-yard punt return.
The Ohio State Buckeyes take on number one ranked USC next week.
OSU moves to 2-0 and Ohio goes to 0-2.
