Sarah Palin And John McCain Woo The Masses
Sarah Palin and John McCain are now on the campaign stump for the first time. Palin was introduced to voters during last week's Republican National Convention. Voters met Palin, her husband Todd, sons Track and Trig, and daughters Bristol, Willow, and Piper. And in doing so, McCain's campaign seemed to ignite some electricity with his constituency. Now McCain is hoping Palin will help him on the campaign trail in the next 8 weeks as they make their run to the Presidential Election on November 4th.
Barack Obama and Joe Biden and a newly unified Democratic Party are lying in wait. Both campaigns seem to be making "change" their primary theme. McCain and Palin are attempting to distance themselves from the Bush Administration, while Obama and Biden are hoping to associate them even more with Bush Cheny and Companu.
McCain went on the attack in front a crowd at the Freedom Hill park amphitheater.
"This is the ticket to shake up Washington because Sen. Obama doesn't have the strength to do it," McCain said . "Send a team of mavericks who aren't afraid to go to Washington and break some china."
McCain implored the voters in Michigan to help him win the White House. Michigan is a state that has been particularly hurt by the American economic downturn. As the center of the automobile manufacturing industry, lost jobs have come at a great expense to Michigan residents.
"I know in Michigan that times are tough. I know all you ask from government is to stand on your side and not in your way," McCain said.
Sarah Palin gets more cheers than McCain
Sarah Palin was met at the event by wild cheering. She kept her remarks simple, choosing to attack Barack Obama for his recent comments concerning the "surge" military strategy in Iraq. She was interrupted several times by chants of "Sarah, Sarah" from the exuberant crowd.
Both Obama and McCain have identified Michigan as a key state in winning this year's election.
