A year after a disastrous performance of her single Piece Of Me at the MTV Music Awards, Britney Spears swept the 25th annual award show - bringing home not one, not two, but three Moonman awards for the song that launched her comeback trail.

Britney Spears won a VMA award for best pop video, best female video and video of the year. This is the first time Britney has won a "Moonman" award in her long music career.

Britney kept her Video Of The Year acceptance speech short, saying "Wow, thank you, I'm in shock right now. I was not expecting this. This is is such an honor to have this award right now." In her previous acceptance speeches for best pop video and best female video she thanked God, her children and her record label.

The night was all about Britney. She wore a shimmering silver dress that brushed her knees, providing more "coverage" than her 2007 appearance. She was reunited with old pals and was praised by her contemporaries in the business. Ex gal-pal Paris Hilton presented her with her best pop video award and caught up with her after the show. The hotel heiress told Britney, "I love you. I miss you. And it's so good to see you." and the adulation didn't stop there. T-Pain said, "As far as Britney, she can do what she wants and still be the queen of all this."

It seems that Britney Spears is really on the comeback trail and with three MTV music awards to put on her mantle she has to be pretty happy about herself, it's been nearly a decade in the making.
