Wayne Gandy rejoins Atlanta Falcons

ATLANTA, Oct. 29 (UPI) --

Veteran free-agent offensive tackle Wayne Gandy, who left the Atlanta Falcons after suffering a knee injury in 2007, is back with the team.

The Falcons signed Gandy Wednesday to help fill in for starting left tackle Sam Baker, who is out with a hip injury. In addition, backup Todd Weiner has been having knee problems.

The 37-year-old Gandy played for the Falcons in 2006 and 2007, starting 21 games before he tore a ligament in his left knee.

Gandy has played in 212 games, starting 205 of them, in his NFL career. He also has played for the St. Louis Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints.
