Groundhog's Day - Punxsutawney Phil
by Nancy Troxell in this-and-that

Soon it will be Groundhog's Day - the day that Punxsutawney Phil makes his way out of his winter burrow to check out his shadow. If the sleepy Mr. Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow on Saturday February 2 we're in store for six more weeks of winter. If however, he doesn't spot his shadow, an early spring is on the way.
Punxsatawney Phile Prepares For Groundhog's Day.
Punxsutawney Phil lives at the Gobbler's Knob in Pennsylvania. Groundhog's Day has been celebrated there since the 1800's - with the first trip to Gobbler's Knob being made in 1887. Punxsutawney Phil was named after King Phil, after being called Br'er Groundhog.
It's only a matter of hours before what the weather predicting Groundhog has to say. Let's hope that his shadow is in hiding!
