Madonna is the type of person who knows what she wants, and then goes for it. She isn't used to taking 'No' for an answer, and usually gets just what she sets her heart on. For a while, that something was a life with Guy Ritchie, the charming British director. But as is so often the case, their marriage bogged down over the years into a life of routine and boredom. As the flames of passion died out, they turned into a smoldering feeling of resentment and bitterness.



The accusations have flown back and forth between the two camps. Madonna has used her role as performer on the Sweet and Sticky Tour to take multiple jabs at Guy. During a performance in London recently, Madonna told the audience that her song 'She's Not Me' was dedicated to women who had been deceived by best friends who ended up sleeping with their husbands.

"This song is for you girls out there that have had one of your best friends f*** your boyfriend!," said the Material Girl.

Who Guy Ritchie slept with is not completely clear to this correspondent.

Madonna is hopping mad at Guy Ritchie these days, according to sources. A new rumor says that Madonna is literally bombarding Guy with unsolicited text messages with such cryptic correspondence as 'You’re going down.'

Lawyers for Madonna and Guy have been in negotiations since April of this year to settle affairs. In recent weeks, things have gone less well than expected, prompting Guy to hire new counsel. Guy hasn't been too happy about Madonna's plans for their children and has hired Stephen Cobb QC, who is a specialist in international divorce law.

And where has A-Rod been during all of this. The New York Yankees slugger who once famously said about Madonna, "Dude, she's my f***ing soulmate," has been lying relatively low. He has been rumored to be purchasing an apartment in Madge's neighborhood in order to be closer to her, but so far nothing concrete has materialized.

This tale is far from settled at this juncture. This is what happened when Madonna decided she didn't need a whole guy and went for A Rod instead.
