Offender Watch

Offender Watch is the new website designed to "take a bite" out of crime, especially sex related ones. The idea is simple: if you know where sex offenders are, it's easier to control their activities.

The plan has been unveiled in Northern California. Law enforcement officers in the area will be able to enter sex offenders into the website, and then alert other police agencies via an email alert system.

Mike Jones, a sargent for Sacramento County Sheriff's department, not the rapper, said he thinks Offender Watch is a boost for the community.

"It's an additional tool for community members to further protect loved ones and friends from sex offenders in the community."

Citizens can search the database to find sex offenders living in their neighborhood. When a new offender moves in, an email alert is sent.
