Bobby Knight Quits Texas Tech
by Nancy Troxell in sports

If you know anything about Bobby Knight, you know that he has a flash temper and the desire to drive a team to winning, but "burn out" has finally gotten the better of him.
Mr. Knight abruptly quit his job with Texas Tech last night. He told staff he was simply "burned out." He's got 902 wins under his belt in his career, along with three NCAA titles.
The school has confirmed his resignation, but Knight made no statement. His son Pat will take over his position. Bobby told the Lubbock-Avalanche Journal, "My thinking was that for Pat and for this team -- most of which is returning next year -- the best thing for the long run for this team would be for Pat and his staff to coach these 10 remaining games." Knight is 67.
Bobby Knight has the the highest winning career as a coach, he beat Dean Smith's record of 879 career victories last year.
It will be odd not to see Bobby Knight on the sidelines (or in the news) with his unique way of coaching.
