Happy Fausnaught Day. What is Fausnaught Day, you ask.

The main purpose of Fasunaught Day was for cooks to use up their baking ingredients before Lent. Otherwise these items were not to be consumed and would not stay fresh until the end of Lent.

A Fausnaught is similar to a donut, but not exactly the same thing. Be warned that Fausnaughts are only to be consumed once a year, and only in certain parts of Pennsylvania. The food is quite heavy, so before you consume too many Fausnaughts, be aware what could happen to your waistline.
