Russia contributes tents to flooded Nepal

NEW YORK, Nov. 11 (UPI) --

Russia has donated three multipurpose tents to use as field hospitals in flooded areas of Nepal, the United Nations' World Health Organization said Tuesday.

The three pneumatic tents will be used to support health emergency response operations in Sunsari and Saptari districts, the areas most affected by the flooding, the health organization said in a news release issued from New York.

Heavy rainfall in August and severe flash floods in September have affected more than 200,000 people throughout Nepal, displacing at least 70,000 people, WHO said.

The organization said it has collaborated with the Nepalese Ministry of Health and Population to send mobile health teams and medical supplies to the affected areas.
