Russian parliament approves longer presidential terms

MOSCOW (AFP) --

Russia's lower house of parliament on Friday approved constitutional changes extending presidential terms from four to six years, a move that has prompted new leadership speculation.

The changes were approved in a first parliamentary reading by 388 votes in favour and 58 against.
