Imperial Sugar Explosion

An explosion at the Imperial Sugar company has caused a 10% drop in the company stock.

An Imperial Sugar employee is treated for an injury.

The sugar refinery in Port Wentworth, Ga., just outside of Savannah, suffered an explosion late Thursday evening. This accident caused at least 38 serious injuries.

The plant which is caled Dixie Crystals factory is a landmark and well known in the local area.

Nakishya Hill had the following account at the scene. "All I know is, I heard a loud boom and everything came down," she said. "When I got up, I went down and found a couple of people and we climbed out of there from the third floor to the first floor. Half of the floor was gone. The second floor was debris, the first floor was debris. All I could do when I got down was take off running."

Hill herself avoided serious injury. There are five people unaccounted for after the accident.
