Baba Amte is dead. Baba Amte was born Murlidhar Devidas Amte, and lived to the age of 94. He is well known for his social work.

Baba Amte was a man of compassion who worked with leprosy.

Baba Amte is survived by wife Sadhana and their two sons Vikas and Prakash. The funeral will be held this Sunday.

Baba Amte was outspoken about issues he believed strongly in, such as the Narmada dam, which he vehemently opposed.
