FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 20 (UPI) --
Florida authorities say a well-known school swimming coach confessed to charges of improper sexual contacts with a minor and possession of child pornography.
Roberto Caragol, 35, of Plantation, was arrested this week after images of minors were found on his laptop computer.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel said Thursday that a federal criminal complaint said he had told investigators he had engaged in sexual encounters with males under the age of 18 since 2001.
Investigators said they received a tip that Caragol's e-mail address was being used to transmit possible child porn.
Caragol was the swim coach at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale for the past two years. The newspaper said Pine Crest is a highly rated swimming school that has produced more than 100 high school All-Americans and five members of the 2008 U.S. Olympic team.
Caragol was being held pending a hearing before a federal magistrate next Monday.
