Chicago has averaged 3.5 goals a game this season and Kane kept the offense in gear by running his goal total to 10. His slapshot with 37 seconds remaining in the first period tied the game at 1-1 and the Blackhawks eventually produced the final three goals of the contest.

Kris Versteeg broke a 3-3 tie with 30 seconds left in the second, Martin Havlat scored 6:40 into the third and Kane finished things off with an empty netter.

Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 31 shots to get the win.

Marty Turco, who has struggled most of the season for the Stars, allowed five goals on 29 shots.
