Twilight Sucks Blood (And Money) At Box Office
The tween Vampire movie, Twilight was the big winner at the box office this weekend, according to Variety. The vampire love story took in $70.6 million from 3,419 screens at the domestic box office. The opening is the second highest ever gross for an independent film.
"Twilight" is a huge win for movie studio Summit. Summit, already feeling the joy of the success of Twilight has announced they're planning on making a sequel, which will be called "New Moon."
Summit was capitalized for $1 billion in 2007.
The movie is different from many vampire movies in the past in that the main character falls for one of the vampires. This weekend, it took a huge bite out of the competition.
