Luke Perry shooting new film in Sweden

TROSA, Sweden, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Former teen idol Luke Perry reportedly is filming a new Swedish-American romantic comedy called "Midsummer Party" in a small town outside of Stockholm.

Best known for playing Dylan McKay on the 1990s teen soap "Beverly Hills, 90210," Perry has also appeared on the TV shows "John from Cincinnati," "Oz" and "Jeremiah," as well as in the films "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "8 Seconds."

The Local said he plays a U.S. actor in his latest project, which director Ian McCrudden began shooting last week in Trosa.

"There really are a bunch of tall, blonde women here, and I've had a nice time in the sauna," Perry observed in an interview with the Aftonbladet newspaper.

"It's beautiful here," he said, pointing to the view from his hotel room. "I guarantee you that I'm coming back to Trosa."

The 41-year-old actor also revealed to Aftonbladet he doesn't mind being remembered for his "90210" role.

"I'm going to be linked with him until I die, but that's actually just fine. I created Dylan McKay. He's mine," Perry said.
