A new Christmas concert special starring U.S. recording artist Melissa Etheridge is to air on HDNet, the high-definition network announced.

"HD Rock Live: Melissa Etheridge -- A New Thought for Christmas Holiday Special" is to premiere Sunday as part of the HDNet Concert Series.

The singer is expected to perform newly composed Christmas songs such as "Ring the Bells," "Light a Light" and "It's Christmas Time" as well as traditional holiday standards such as "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "Blue Christmas."

The songs also appear on Etheridge's latest album, "A New Thought for Christmas."
