NFL fines Crowder, Light $15,000
NEW YORK, Nov. 26 (UPI) --
New England lineman Matt Light and Miami linebacker Channing Crowder have been fined $15,000, but not suspended, for their roles in an altercation last Sunday.
NFL officials on Wednesday handed down the fines, calling the incident a verbal and physical altercation.
Crowder and Light shoved each other after a Patriots field goal attempt late in Sunday's 48-28 New England win over the Dolphins. Crowder's helmet came off during the fray as Light appeared to pull the other player's dreadlocks. Crowder didn't retaliate but both players were ejected from the game.
They also had to be restrained after their ejections when they were leaving the field. There was no physical contract at that time, however.
