Mothers not fans of high-heeled baby shoes
LONDON, Nov. 26 (UPI) --
Some British mothers say they were not pleased to learn that a U.S. company created a new brand of high-heeled shoes designed for infants.
Mother-of-one Katharine Fey said the new shoes from the company, Heelarious, are too adult for babies due to the overt sexual nature of the feminine fashion item, The Daily Mail said Wednesday.
These shoes are completely inappropriate and unnecessary for babies,
the 32-year-old mother said. Infants have very soft bones at that age and their feet are still growing. They shouldn't be wearing shoes anyway, let alone something this overtly sexual.
Mother-of-two Claire Aldwood agreed, saying the products being sold in Britain by Julia Taylor are wholly inappropriate.
They're making them look like little women -- and loose little women at that,
she said of the shoes' impact on infants.
The Mail said Taylor is selling the baby shoes online at the Web site, Heels for Her, and they are available in leopard and zebra print for $30 a pair.
