De La Nuez art work re-interprets 'Oz'
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 26 (UPI) --
Pop artist Nelson De La Nuez says Warner Bros. selected him to re-interpret the iconic Hollywood film The Wizard of Oz.
His exclusive, limited edition piece is to be among those sold through Warner Bros. Consumer Products' Inspirations of Oz Fine Art Collection,
in conjunction with the film's 70th anniversary. The one-of-a-kind interpretive works of art are to be sold through the artist, authorized galleries and publishers.
De La Nuez's hand-painted mixed media artwork, Ditching Dorothy,
is slated to premiere during the Art Basel Miami Beach at Ocean Drive Magazine's Paint the Town Green Presents: The Emerald City
event Dec. 5.
The special exhibition of The Inspirations of Oz Fine Art Collection
will be on display to the public at the Ocean Drive Magazine Photo Studio from Dec. 6-7, and the Miami Children's Museum from Dec. 9-23.
Following a year of special events spanning the globe, select pieces from the collection are to be auctioned at a gala event next October with the proceeds benefiting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
