O'Donnell says 'Rosie Live' one and done

NEW YORK, Nov. 29 (UPI) --

U.S. TV talk show host Rosie O'Donnell said low ratings for the first airing of her Rosie Live TV series marked the end of the variety show.

The former co-host of The View said on her Web site that after a poor ratings performance this week of the new live NBC series, there will be no further episodes of Rosie, The Hollywood Reporter said Saturday.

Despite featuring appearances by singers Alanis Morissette and Clay Aiken, along with actor Alec Baldwin, the show's first episode only garnered less than 5 million viewers.

The low ratings for the freshman series' inaugural episode were less than the ratings earned by the time slot's normal inhabitant, NBC's Knight Rider.

The Reporter said it and other industry reviewers offered an equally unkind review of Wednesday's variety special.

There's nothing like a good holiday variety show and this was nothing like one, the Reporter said of the O'Donnell show.
